This is going to be one heck of a tour. The Mountain Gorillas are iconic subjects of this location and will be near the top of our target list, as well as the smart and clever Chimpanzees. This tour will also take advantage of some of east Africa's most stunning bird life. Handfuls of sunbirds, colorful bee-eaters, turacos, weavers and the impressive Abyssinian Ground Hornbill will hopefully be ripe for some photographic opportunities. Once we've had our fill of these "beta targets", we will of course turn our attention to the mightiest bird target in Uganda, the prehistoric Shoebill. Towering tall in the Mambamba marshes, we'll take a canoe ride through the wetlands, aiming to photograph this spectacular bird species. The incredible bird and wildlife opportunities here will tower over the tough conditions but please keep in mind, Uganda is not like Tanzania and Kenya and other heavily touristed safari destinations. Some of the accommodations can be a little more basic, AC is available is most locations but not al (where a fan MAY POSSIBLY be procured). The roads are also bumpy and traffic through cities can be quite intense. If you're ready for a "more off the beaten path" sort of Africa trip, look no further.
